Sebring has two main shopping areas – the original downtown core built around Circle Park and more than seven miles of U.S. Highway 27 – from Sun ’N Lake to the north down to U. S. Highway 98 on the south.
Downtown is quaint and low key, with a variety of specialty boutiques, restaurants and professional offices.
U.S. Highway 27 is busy and booming. It is lined with several shopping malls both small and large, including the enclosed Lakeshore Mall and the newly developed Shops at Shelby Crossing, a 250,000-square-foot center, both feature national retail stores.
There are more than 1,600 sleeping accommodations available in hotels, motels, resorts and campgrounds; the majority are located in the greater Sebring area.
Hotels that offer separate facilities for meetings and banquets include: Chateau Elan Hotel and Conference Center, Inn on the Lakes, Kenilworth Lodge, Residence Inn by Marriott, La Quinta Inn & Suites, Holiday Inn Express and the Highlands Inn.
Several smaller boutique properties, like the Sebring Lakeside Golf Resort, offer a more intimate experience.
Villas at Spring Lake Golf Resort and Sun ’N Lake of Sebring offer an attractive alternative to single rooms. The Kenilworth Lodge of Sebring and the Hotel Jacaranda in Avon Park are historic, stately places with modern amenities.
The Highlands County Visitor & Convention Bureau provides information and support to help outside organizations hold meetings and conferences. For more information, contact the bureau at (800) 545-6021.
