Lakes, orange groves, golf courses and mild sunny weather combined with small-town charm make Highlands County a relaxing getaway.
Nature provides a wide choice of activities, as does the community.
The Community Redevelopment Agency and the chamber of commerce hold a number of events on the Historic Circle throughout the year. These include the Roaring Twenties Festival, an arts & crafts fair, regular downtown garage sales and Saturday Night Cruises with classic car shows. Artists periodically turn downtown into an outdoor art gallery as local artists display and sell their work. Singers entertain during the weeks of Heartland Idol – a homegrown talent show that has grown every year.

Once a year, just before the “The 12 Hours of Sebring,” local restaurants show off their signature dishes during the Taste of the Race.
The Greater Sebring Chamber of Commerce maintains a list of more than 200 local clubs and organizations, including civic clubs, fraternal organizations, hobby and collectors clubs, veterans organizations, professional associations and volunteer opportunities.
