Education
Our children’s education is our number one priority in South Lake. From pre-school to post-secondary institutions, South Lake offers superior educational opportunities at every level.
Our community works hard to continuously better our school system, and we take pride in our A+ educational programs. South Lake is also home to world-renowned private schools. Montverde Academy is the area’s largest private institution and impressively achieves 100 percent college matriculation of its students.
Lake Sumter Community College (LSCC) serves over 7,500 residents a year with three campuses, including one in Clermont. Clermont is also home to a satellite campus of The University of Central Florida (UCF). UCF, the 7th largest university in the country, is a public, multi-campus metropolitan research university that provides both undergraduate and graduate studies.
LSCC and the UCF team up to offer a 2+2 program that guarantees Lake Sumter students who earn their associates degree a seamless transfer into UCF’s baccalaureate program. Other valuable programs and projects include a joint-use community library and a medical magnet high school.
South Lake’s educational system gives students the best direction from day one to graduation day. Students of all ages know they’ll receive the tools they need to compete and succeed in today’s market.
