Children in elementary school attend Clermont Elementary School, Cypress Ridge Elementary School, Groveland Elementary School, Lost Lake Elementary School, Mascotte Elementary School, Minneola Elementary School, Pine Ridge Elementary School and South Lake Charter Elementary School.
Cyprus Ridge is noteworthy because it is a math, science and technology magnet school that offers a core concentration in these areas and a computer in every classroom.
The middle schools are Cecil E. Gray Middle School, Clermont Middle School and Windy Hill Middle School.
The primary high schools are East Ridge High School and South Lake High School, both in Clermont.
First Academy-Leesburg is a private grade school option serving K-12. The largest private school is Montverde Academy in Montverde. It serves children in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade in a gorgeous, 125-acre setting. Students may board or attend as day students.
An advanced education can be attained at Lake-Sumter Community College (LSCC). It has grown to have three campuses, including one in Clermont, and serves more than 7,500 residents a year. It provides affordable tuition and flexible schedules to suit the needs of full or part-time students. It also offers 35 degree and certificate programs.
The University of Central Florida is a public, multi-campus metropolitan research university dedicated to serving its surrounding communities. The university, which has a Clermont campus, provides a range of academic studies for both undergraduate and graduate students. Some of its degree programs include accounting, aerospace engineering, computer science, English, history and foreign languages.
In addition, there are special technical school options in South Lake County that add to its diverse educational landscape. A county library and a magnet high school are also on the horizon for the LSCC and UCF campus.
