As South Lake County has grown, so has its major healthcare provider, South Lake Hospital.

Started in 1947 with just nine beds, the hospital has responded to the needs of an increasing population. It has expanded to become a 200-acre health, education and wellness campus.

The hospital works in conjunction with Orlando Regional Healthcare to maintain and improve the quality of life of residents. It has integrated health, education, wellness and sports science into one convenient location in Clermont.

As a not-for-profit acute care facility, South Lake Hospital offers a wide range of services and programs. These include obstetrics, cardiac catheterization/vascular lab, home health, orthopedics/total joint replacement, inpatient and outpatient surgical services, diagnostic imaging, emergency services and much more.

From maternity through maturity, South Lake Hospital’s Centre for Women’s Health focuses solely on the healthcare needs of women. Built to have the comfortable look and feel of home and served by an experienced staff, it is the site of up-to-date diagnostic technologies. These include digital mammography, osteoporosis screening/ bone densitometry, ultra sound with 4D imaging, and stereotactic breast biopsy.

The centre also has four labor/delivery/recovery rooms, eight post-partum suites, a C-section and recovery area, and family celebration room.

South Lake Hospital is also the site of the National Training Center, a place where athletes of all levels have the opportunity to meet their fitness and performance goals. It features an aquatic center with a 70-meter, heated pool, outpatient rehabilitation, multi-purpose athletic fields, a track and field complex and a human performance lab.
