Tourism

Carroll County is replete with many rewarding sites and tourist stops. One of Georgia's few Main Street cities is found in Carrollton. The downtown is full of quaint shops, excellent restaurants and home to many graphiccelebrations throughout the year. The county itself is no stranger to special events, as it hosts numerous events throughout the year. Springfest in Villa Rica, Mayfest in Carrollton, Bowdon at Sundown, Roopville's Homecoming Days, Temple Fall Festival & Car Show, and Whitesburg Arts & Crafts Festival are just a few.

Several historical attractions were built in the early 19th century still stand on their original foundations. Acorn Bluff and the Bonner House were both plantation homes, while Buckhorne Tavern, Kennedy Chapel, McDaniel-Whatley House, and Oaklawn all give perspective into a far removed time in the state of Georgia. graphic
