Three major hospitals are located throughout the county. Tanner Medical Center has facilities scattered everywhere, with its two primary centers located in Carrollton and Villa Rica. Carrollton is by far the largest acting as a 202-bed acute care hospital, while a 53-bed hospital provides service in Villa Rica. A 57-bed acute care hospital is located in Bremen called Higgins General Hospital. Tanner Primary Care Clinics can be found in Bowdon, Bremen, Buchanan, Carrollton, Tallapoosa, Temple, and Villa Rica. Inpatient/Outpatient services aim at cardiology, occupational health, short stay, behavioral health, rehabilitation, maternity wards, 24-emergency, cancer centers, and women's centers.
