The O’Kelley Memorial Library, located on the corner of Highways 20 and 78, was completed in 1990. An important community resource, the library offers modern services and a wealth of information for citizens and business owners, and hosts many useful classes and seminars for all ages.
The Gwinnett History Museum in Lawrenceville is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was originally built in the 1830s as the former Lawrenceville Female Seminary, and now displays exhibits on life in early Gwinnett County.
The Crawford W. Long Musuem in Jefferson houses artifacts and documents highlighting the life of the physician who first used ether for surgical anesthesia. The Southeastern Railway Museum in Duluth features wooded freight cars, steam locomotives, Pullmans and other railway equipment. A steam locomotive or diesel engines power on-site train rides.
