Mitchell County is also home to some of the best quail hunting plantations. These plantations offer a relaxing time outdoors while enjoying a picturesque scene. Some of the local plantations have overnight accommodations ranging from rustic hunting lodges to unique cabins overlooking the Flint River. Every year, many avid outdoorsmen and fishermen enjoy the Flint River and the numerous hiking trails. A large rodeo arena is located in Sale City, and the County also has community parks, a golf course, tennis courts, and baseball fields. Recreation programs throughout the County provide a variety of programs and skill levels for children year round.
