tourism

graphicVisitors have always been an important part of Perry’s economy, and today tourism is the number one business. Perry’s renovated, revitalized downtown shopping district and walking tour of historic homes and sites alone is worth a visit. A stroll downtown might find you at one of our historic restaurants or perhaps at the former Senator Sam Nunn exhibit, a tribute to our favorite son. The downtown area is a charming collection of specialty shops and boutiques.

The city serves as home base for sightseeing at several of Georgia’s most fascinating attractions. Just a few of the famous locales include the Museum of Aviation, Andersonville National Historic Site and the national head-quarters for the American Camellia Society. One of the nation’s "Top 75 Events," Mossy Creek Festival takes place twice yearly in Perry. In addition, over 360,000 people attend the Georgia National Fair each October.
