In
the same way that Suwanee protects its natural resources, the City is
committed to preserving its history. The Old Town area, the City's center
of commerce as well as community in the late 19th century, is destined
again to be the focal point of Suwanee's identity, pride, and long-term
economic stability. Suwanee has been designated a Better Hometown, which
means that it is committed to revitalizing its Old Town area and will
receive public-private assistance in doing so. Projects like Brogdon Place,
an office-retail development designed to blend with Old Town's traditional
architecture, and events like Suwanee Day and the spring concert series
will once again make Old Town an area that embodies Suwanee's sense of
community.
