Acres of Recreation & Adventure

Walton County’s Recreation and Parks Department maintains several parks including: Criswell Park, Mathews Park, Coker Park, Kidd Park, Hammond Park, and Pilot Park. There are also organized sports leagues: Little League (T-ball, baseball, and softball), Youth Basketball, and Football and Soccer Leagues. Additionally, the department works with the county’s towns to organize various events throughout the year. The department is committed to providing activities for everyone of any age or ability.

Golf enthusiasts will be pleased with the available courses in the area: Monroe Golf and Country Club, Cedar Lake Golf Club, The Providence Club, and Woodlake. Hard Labor Creek State Park located in Social Circle is a treasure not to be missed. The park consists of 5,804 acres providing a variety of adventures for all who visit. Campgrounds, cottages, picnic areas, swimming, horseback riding, boating, fishing and hiking are just a few of the many amenities available.
