Meridian restaurants range from locally-owned ethnic restaurants (featuring Basque, Greek, Mexican, Italian, Chinese and Vietnamese menus) to well-known chains for everything from great American steaks to seafood.

The Meridian Symphony Orchestra, an all-volunteer community orchestra, offers a “family-friendly” season each year. Featuring light classical and “pops” concerts each season, the Symphony brings great music to the community and also performs in small groups for various community functions.

Meridian has several annual events and festivals. The Chamber Chili Cook-off in January is a local favorite to chase away the winter blues. Meridian Dairy Days honors our heritage as the center of the dairy industry in the first half of the 20th century. Celebrated continuously since 1929, Dairy Days features a Dairy Show, Parade, Pancake Feed, carnival, and an arts and crafts fair.

Scarecrow Festival, in October, is a Meridian-original. Harvest-oriented festivities abound, and scarecrows with various themes show up on every street corner. Holiday activities the first week in December feature a parade, the Wreath Festival, City Tree Lighting and various other events.

Meridian residents enjoy the cultural events offered in Boise and Nampa, from ballet to Shakespeare; opera to Broadway shows. The Treasure Valley has a wealth of musical and theatrical groups, offering shows throughout the year.image
