The Meridian School District is the largest in the state, serving the
communities of Meridian, Eagle, Star and parts of Boise. Known for its
progressive outlook, the District regularly solicits input from parents,
civic groups and business leaders to constantly improve student motivation
and achievement. Elementary schools include years K-5, middle schools
years 6-8 and the high schools include freshman through seniors.
Year-round schools are available at the elementary level. The District
offers alternative middle and senior high schools for children who do
well in smaller classes. Within the Meridian District, there are two charter
high schools – one with a technology focus and the second with a
medical arts focus.
Area higher education choices include Boise State University, Albertson
College of Idaho, Northwest Nazarene University and branches or online
campuses of the University of Idaho, the University of Phoenix and George
Fox University. Construction is underway on the West Campus of Boise State
University, located just five miles west of Meridian.
