Pocatello Area Chamber of Commerce

Arts and Entertainment

The area has several art galleries and bookstores in addition to four movie theaters, including a drive-in. The area also offers an array of live theater venues, including two dinner theater groups. Idaho State University’s L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center hosts theatrical performances and concerts, and is the permanent home of the Idaho State Civic Symphony. A variety of summer concerts are held at the outdoor band shell in Ross Park.

Holt Arena, with a capacity of 12,000, is located on the ISU campus. The arena hosts major concerts, trade shows, year-round athletic events for the University, the Dodge National Finals Circuit Rodeo and high school sports events.

Museums highlight the natural history and development of the area. The Fort Hall Indian Reservation, home to the Shoshone-Bannock Tribal Museum, lies north of the city. The Idaho Museum of Natural History is located on the ISU campus, and the Fort Hall Replica Historic Complex is located in Ross Park. Lava Hot Springs, less than 30 minutes south of Pocatello, also has a historic museum.
