Government
The City of Pocatello government operates under the guidance of a mayor and six-member city council. From actively pursuing grants for area improvements to investing available resources in current and proposed projects, the city guides this steadily growing community. Pocatello boasts nearly 300 municipally sponsored volunteers who give of their time for the community’s benefit.
With a police force of nearly 100 and almost as many firefighters stationed at five locations throughout the city, the area has the ability to respond to virtually any type of emergency situation that may arise. In addition, the fire department maintains the ambulance service and houses the State of Idaho Region III Hazardous Materials Response Team.
Local law enforcement provides a variety of activities and classroom instruction for area youth, including the D.A.R.E. program and the G.R.E.A.T. program, which personally empowers youth to avoid violence and criminal activity.
The City of Chubbuck also maintains a dynamic council government as well as city offices and services, such as highly trained police and fire departments and efficient public works personnel. Chubbuck has proven itself to be more than capable of handling all that accompanies community growth. The Chubbuck police department also provides the D.A.R.E. program to area youth.
