Legends and Legacies

race car

The village of Barrington was given the appreciable opportunity to host the inaugural Barrington Concours D’Elegance: Legends & Legacies event this past September at the Makray Memorial Golf Club. The special affair commemorated automotive history and featured nearly 100 historic automobiles. All proceeds benefited the Barrington Hills Conservation Trust, Cowboy Dreams of Illinois and Hospice of Northeastern Illinois.

Attendees of the Barrington Concours D’Elegance viewed cars from pre- and post-World War II, 1950s classics and newer models from a variety of luxury auto manufacturers, including a 1923 Rolls-Royce Twenty Doctor’s Coupe to a 1939 Bugatti T57-C Drop Head Convertible and a 1972 All-American Racers “Gurney Eagle.”

Additional sponsors included Comcast, the Daily Herald, MJ Miller & Company, Northern Trust, Quintessential Barrington Magazine, The Village of Barrington and WBBM Radio.
