Batavia Healthcare

Batavia’s central location offers residents, visitors and workers an advantage when it comes to fulfilling everyday and emergency healthcare needs. Two conveniently located hospitals, a surgery center, and numerous private practitioners provide high quality healthcare.

Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva, minutes north of Batavia on Randall Road, is part of the Delnor-Community Health System. Part of the 87-acre development that houses the various departments of the health system, the hospital is a state-designated Level II Trauma Center. Its 24-hour Emergency Department is staffed by physicians and nurses specially trained in emergency medicine.

Recently renovated, the hospital’s NewLife Maternity Center features home-like amenities within private birthing and recovery suites. The center also features a garden room for family gatherings, a spacious reception area, a large education room, and an outpatient lactation room. High risk newborns are cared for in a Level II special nursery.

In addition to the hospital, the Delnor-Community Health System offers services that benefit all of Fox Valley’s residents: the Health & Wellness Center, Home Health Services, Health Care Foundation, Delnor Glen Assisted Living and the Medical Office Buildings. Each division of the Health System is centrally located and ready to serve.

Provena Mercy Center occupies a 160-acre campus a few miles south of Batavia in Aurora. The 356-bed, full-service hospital provides inpatient, partial hospitalization and outpatient services.

With a staff of nearly 300 physicians in more than 36 medical specialties, Provena Mercy Center offers the widest possible range of health care services. Among its many services are cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, general surgery, gynecology, hematology, laser surgery, neurology and neurosurgery, obstetrics, oncology, pediatrics, plastic surgery, sports medicine, and vascular surgery.

Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center is an excellent option in outpatient surgical care. Located off of Randall Road in nearby St. Charles, the center performs more than 350 surgical procedures.

Outpatient surgery can save patients up to 50 percent over inpatient care.

For the senior population, there are several excellent nursing and assisted living facilities located in the area. Among these is The Holmstad, a high quality retirement community providing several levels of living, from independent to assisted living to skilled care nursing.

Heritage Woods of Batavia offers affordable assisted living for the older adult. Its location on the site of the first settler’s homestead in Batavia adds to its cultural integrity.
