The Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce marked a milestone in 2007, celebrating its 25th anniversary. As the organization grew and prospered, members never lost sight of its original intent — to have a collective voice, advocate for each other and to help the community.
Never before has the Chamber presence been felt as much in the community. The enthusiasm and drive of its officers, directors and members have brought our Chamber to the forefront in these highly competitive times. Members are there for each other through regular meetings and after-hours networking events. And they are committed to the community, participating in local activities and generously awarding scholarships annually to graduating seniors and continuing students.
I continue to boast about our business community; both the retail base, which allows the Village to keep property taxes down thanks to sales tax revenues, and the many professionals and service-oriented businesses who help us maintain the outstanding quality of life we are so proud of.
I thank the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce for sponsoring and producing this beautiful booklet about Bloomingdale. I invite residents to visit the Chamber of Commerce new offices in the historic “Old Schoolhouse” at 108 W. Lake Street. And as always, I encourage residents continue to support our local business community by “Buying in Bloomingdale.”
Very truly yours,
Robert G. Iden Mayor
