Village Government
The Village Board is responsible for governing the Village. It determines policy by passage of ordinances and controls finances. The current board consists of Village President Bob Iden, Village Clerk Susan Bartucci and six Village Trustees — Bill Bolen, Bob Czernek, John Dabrowski, Jim Gebis, Jim King and Judi Von Huben.
All are elected for terms of four years. The Village Board meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. All meetings are conducted at the Village Hall and are open to the public.

POLICE
With 49 sworn police officers and 22 civilian support personnel, the Bloomingdale Police Department is strong and able to protect its people. The department’s three divisions, Operations, Administrative Services and Criminal Investigations/Youth, combine to operate many programs and ensure the community’s overall safety. The department’s chief is Tim Goergen.
The strong force is one reason why Bloomingdale’s crime rates are lower than the national average.
FIRE PROTECTION
Covering 19 square miles and 35,000 residents, Bloomingdale Fire Protection District No. 1 operates in Bloomingdale, as well as parts of Addison, Glendale Heights, Hanover Park, Itasca, Medinah, Roselle and other portions of unincorporated DuPage County.
The Fire Protection District is comprised of 39 career personnel, nine paid on-call representatives, and six civilians. Its headquarters is located at 179 South Bloomingdale Road.
