The Valley View School District 365U is one of Will County's largest employers with 1,485 teachers and support staff. Schools in the district include 10 public elementary schools, one parochial elementary school, four middle schools, two high schools, and one alternative program.

In December of 1996, the Lincoln Foundation for Business Excellence recognized two school districts in Illinois with the Commitment to Excellence Award. Valley View School District 365U was one of the recipients. The award is patterned after the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award, but adapted to the needs of Illinois. All schools meet the accreditation standards of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Valley View also boasts about a variety of programs that benefit the students. These include; a gifted program, performing arts, athletic activities, and special education programs. At the high school level, the district offers a wide range of vocational/technical courses along with a cooperative education program.
