The Bolingbrook Fire Department has 73 full-time firefighters and nine paid-on-call volunteers. Thirty-eight members of the team are state-certified paramedics.

In the event of a fire, a five-person Arson Investigation team of state-certified investigators examine the causes and origin of each fire occurrence in Bolingbrook.

The fire prevention bureau periodically inspects all commercial and multi-unit dwellings in Bolingbrook. Free Home Safety surveys are conducted upon request.

During Fire Prevention Week, the bureau visits elementary schools to teach fire safety.
