State-of-the-art hospital OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, located on the eastern side of Rockford, is a Level I Trauma Center facility. Established in 1911, Swedish American Hospital is recognized nationally for excellence in the fields of cardiovascular medicine, cancer treatment, psychiatry, mental health treatment, obstetrics, laser and emergency medicine. This acute care facility is home to the area’s busiest emergency room. In addition, this teaching hospital is affiliated with the University of Illinois College of Medicine.
