Bradley Community Introduction

Nestled along the banks of the Kankakee River, less than one hour south of Chicago, Kankakee County is centrally located in northeastern Illinois.

With more than 25 communities, the highlight of the county is the beautiful and expanding Bradley-Bourbonnais area. Whether residing or visiting, the area offers an abundance of fun and interesting sites with activities for people of all ages.

Bradley-Bourbonnais is home to several excellent educational systems that provide students from preschool through university graduate studies with a serious and complete education to prepare them for their adult lives.

The health needs of the citizens are provided by two nationally-ranked hospitals and a cadre of excellent and caring physicians and service providers.

There is something for everyone here. Positioned near the Kankakee River, Bradley-Bourbonnais is home to a number of charming parks and family-friendly recreational facilities. Spend a day hiking through the breathtaking landscape of the nearby Kankakee River State Park, or have a relaxing picnic with family and friends on the Perry Farm’s 170 acres of rolling open space. In addition to its riverfront and trails, the Perry Farm is also home to the Exploration Station, a hands-on children’s museum with ever-changing interactive displays and activities.

The Letourneau Home offers a glimpse of life in early Bourbonnais, operated by the Bourbonnais Grove Historical Society. Docents offer tours and information about those days.

Shopping is easy in any one of the several retail areas with both chain and specialty stores. A regional mall, Northfield Square, is open daily and home to several specialty stores. Golf is a passion in Kankakee County, and the area is home to many fine courses.

Hidden Cove, with its many games and activities including miniature golf, is a great place to spend the day with the kids, or to host a birthday party.

The Bradley-Bourbonnais Regional Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit organization that strives to be of service for all local businesses. It focuses on providing leadership and maintaining and strengthening the business climate as well as promoting the economic growth and workforce development of the community. The Bradley-Bourbonnais Regional Chamber of Commerce integrates and partners together small and large companies toward the common goal of promoting the community and individual businesses in an honest, open and friendly atmosphere.
