ORGANIZED SPORTS
Organized sports are widely available in Buffalo Grove for adults as well as youth.

Through the Buffalo Grove Park District, the community can access softball, volleyball, baseball, football, basketball, soccer, martial arts, lacrosse, skating/ hockey, aquatics and much more to round out the list of available sports options.

In addition to the park district’s organized sports offerings are several further teams dedicated to providing sports outlets to the area, including Bill’s Youth Football and Cheerleading Association and Grove United Soccer Association, among many others.

KENDRIGRAN FIELD
Twin Creeks Park now calls itself the home of Kendrigran Field, a more than $2 million project taken on by the Buffalo Grove Park District.

The seven-acre, rubberized baseball field at Kendrigran Field is utilized by the Buddy Baseball special youth baseball program, which allows children with physical and mental disabilities to participate in the national pastime with the help of “buddies.”

Able-bodied volunteers do everything from standing with them at the plate to helping them field and throw. Kendrigran Field is also the location of the newly revised Safety Town, a nine-hole Disc Golf course, an all-accessible playground, bike paths and Bocce courts.

GOLF
Buffalo Grove is home to two excellent courses, ideal for golfers of virtually every skill level. Built in 1965 and purchased by the Village in 1977, the Buffalo Grove Golf Club is a favorite among local golfers. The 18-hole course is characterized by bent grass greens fused with bluegrass fairways and a blending of trees, sand and water.

With three sets of tees, the course can be played from as long as 6,883 yards to as short as 5,983 yards. In addition to this great course is a 25-station, all-grass driving range, a practice putting green and chipping/pitching green, a full-service pro shop, sizable locker rooms, the delicious Village Bar & Grill restaurant and on-staff PGA and LPGA professionals readily available for lessons.

Another option for golf in Buffalo Grove is the 18-hole Dick Nugent-designed Arboretum Golf Course. Established in 1990, the challenging course spans over 100 acres of billowing fairways, rolling greens and an array of mature trees and local flora. The Arboretum also encompasses a professional staff and a new 27,000 square foot clubhouse that offers an extensive pro shop, snack shop, bar and restaurant and roomy locker rooms.
