Real Estate

More than 11,000 homes are spread throughout Chicago Heights. While more than 2,000 of these homes were built prior to 1939, a number of new single-family residences have been developed during the last ten years.

With forest preserves, Thorn Creek and public parks providing picturesque backdrops, area neighborhoods are noted for both geographic and architectural beauty.

The many architectural styles in Chicago Heights reflect the city’s growth during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Homes and buildings in the historic Euclid area and throughout the town represent such architectural styles as Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, Craftsman Bungalow and Italianate.

The Chicago Heights Historic Preservation Advisory Committee (CHHPAC) has made great strides in preserving the distinctive architectural and historical qualities of the city. In addition to designating local landmarks, districts and sites, the CHHPAC also plans educational public seminars and historic housewalks to showcase and promote awareness of the historical beauty and significance of Chicago Heights.
