graphicAn Ideal Location

Chicago Southland offers two critical assets for business and industrial success : ideal plant locations and great transportation.

Eight interstate highways crisscross Chicago Southland: I-55, I-57, I-80, I-90, I-94, I-294, I-355, and I-394, often skirting community boundaries. Several communities boast a direct link to Calumet Harbor and Lake Michigan, for reaching world markets via the St. Lawrence Seaway.

Most communities have ready access to both freight and passenger rail services. Fast, comfortable Metra commuter trains provide frequent daily service to Chicago's famed Loop, while Pace buses transport residents within and between Chicago Southland communities. Senior citizens and the physically challenged have access to special Pace bus transportation. Interstate bus service, and Amtrak passenger train service are also available.

& Great Transportation!

Midway Airport and O'Hare International Airport serve the area with passenger and freight service via major airlines. Swift transport to both airports is available via several limousine services operating in the Chicago Southland area. In addition, there is regularly scheduled bus transportation to the two airports.

Creation of a third Chicago area airport at Peotone, in the southern reaches of Chicago Southland, continues to stir the political winds. The airport will serve 2.5 million people living within 45 minutes of the location and be a significant factor in area development.
