A strong faith guided the efforts of the rugged pioneers and immigrants who settled the Chicago Southland area in the mid-1800s. For this reason, churches quickly followed the construction of homes.
That same strong faith is felt today, evidenced by the handsome houses of worship sprinkled liberally throughout each of the 71 communities. They represent all major religious denominations and offer spiritual renewal and fellowship.
Some also provide parochial education.
