The charm of small town America is alive and well in Beecher, located 37 miles due south of Chicago's Loop. Beecher offers delightful living in neighborhoods of older and newer homes and also in the rural atmosphere of farm properties.
Luxury single family homes and townhomes are recent additions to the community, attracting growing families, empty nesters, and retirees. A focal point is the 27-hole Shady Lawn public golf course with fine homes on large lots surrounding it.
Beecher's historic downtown has made the transition from retail center to business and professional center with dignity. A wealth of retail stores is now located along the Dixie Highway (IL Rt. 1). Here, too, is found a growing number of light industrial firms.
Commuters to Chicago's Loop travel Illinois 394 to the Dan Ryan Expressway or relax aboard Metra commuter trains that depart from nearby University Park.
