Park is a small town by any standard, occupying a single square mile.
However, it is becoming increasingly attractive to business and industry through participation in the Calumet Region Enterprise Zone and its use of Tax Increment Financing. The TIF encompasses 40 acres adjoining I-57.
Despite its size, Calumet Park takes pride in its support of Little League and the award-winning industrial technology department at its District 218 high school.
Calumet Park is only 16 miles south of the Loop and has speedy access to the entire network of Chicagoland express highways.
