Lynwood is a young Illinois community that shares its eastern border with Indiana. Incorporated in 1959, Lynwood's growth began in the early 1970s and continues today. Between 1970 and 1980, it population increased by nearly 60 percent.

The community's location allows residents to work conveniently in either Illinois or Indiana. Lynwood housing suits a wide variety of lifestyles. It ranges from smartly styled single family homes to apartments, condominiums, and even mobile homes.

With the Bishop Ford Expressway at its western border, Lynwood has good access to other Chicago metropolitan communities. I-80 to the north and U.S. 30 to the south enables commuting to work in Indiana.
