A small community bordering Chicago, Merrionette Park residents enjoy the advantages of living in a neighborly village with easy access to the cultural and sport amenities of the metropolitan center. Incorporated in 1947, the community takes its name from its developer, J.E. Merrion.
With industry limited, Merrionette Park's economy is supported largely by retail and commercial activity. Several large retail chains are represented.
Two interstate highways are nearby - I-57 on the east and I-294 on the west.
