As a near west suburb of Chicago, Cicero residents have access to outstanding hospitals. All of these facilities provide community education and physician referral services.

Quality health care is readily available to the residents of Cicero at any of the three nearby hospitals: Loretto Hospital in Chicago, MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, or West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park. There are also a number of medical and dental clinics as well as numerous private practitioners of health care located throughout the town.

MacNeal Hospital is a 427-bed teaching facility with more than 400 employees on staff. The hospital also has a network of 26 health care centers. Its specialty programs include the Joslin Center for Diabetes, MacNeal Cancer Center Home Health, rehabilitation services and cardiology.

Oak Park Hospital is a 296-bed comprehensive facility with a medical staff of 365. The hospital is a member of the Synergon Health System and the Rush System for Health.

The Loyola University Health System is a two-hospital system that maintains about 900 beds, more than 40 ambulatory care sites and approximately 1,700 physicians. Loyola University Medical Center ranks among the nation’s leaders in heart and cancer care, burn treatment, high-risk pregnancy, high-risk infant care, pediatrics and organ transplant surgery. Loyola’s families may make use of the Ronald McDonald Children’s Hospital nearby.

People who need long-term care may turn to several facilities-the Alden Town Manor Rehab & Healthcare Center and the Westshire Nursing & Rehab Center.

Family Service and Mental Health Center of Cicero supports a mission of providing high quality and community-based mental health care for Cicero families. Their services are guided by an emphasis on individual and family strengths and the belief that clients can overcome their problems with focused professional assistance. Parent, youth, crisis, psychiatric and bilingual services are offered by a staff that is trained and sensitive to the needs of clients.
