Incorporated in 1960, Countryside is home to approximately 6,000 residents and more than 400 businesses. Countryside has grown through the years, continually developing from what was once simple prairie land to the thriving business and family oriented community it is today.

Outstanding local schools, an excellent parks and recreation system, and convenient city amenities (including branch and brush pickup, snowplowing, and annual spring cleaning pickup) make Countryside an ideal place to reside. Businesses prosper due, in part, to a full range of city services provided without the imposition of a municipal real estate tax.

2005 marks Countryside’s 45th birthday, and to commemorate the occasion, a comprehensive master plan has been approved. The Countryside Comprehensive Plan: Vision for 2024, will take the city through 2024 with long-term development and improvement objectives to enhance the quality of life for all of Countryside’s current and future residents and businesses.
