Several local hospitals attend to the healthcare needs of Crestwood residents ­ including Oak Forest Hospital, St. Francis Hospital & Health Center and Palos Community Hospital.

St. Francis Hospital & Health Center is a 410-bed Catholic, not-for-profit healthcare institution owned and operated by SSM Health Care. Founded in 1905 by the Sisters of St. Mary, St. Francis is an acute care hospital that provides primary, secondary and tertiary levels of care. The hospital offers a comprehensive range of medical, surgical, pediatric and obstetrical care, and serves as a major treatment site for cardiac care.

St. Francis’ award-winning cardiovascular center is located in the hospital’s $34 million expansion, a two-year construction project completed in October 2003. The addition includes 60,000-square feet of new space that houses comprehensive imaging and diagnostic services, outpatient surgery services, a women’s wellness center and an expanded emergency department.
