Crete has access to a large, integrated transportation network, perfectly suited to help grow your business. Illinois Route 1 runs north south through the downtown business district, while the Calumet Expressway (I-394) borders the village on the east, leading directly to Chicago. Other major thoroughfares close by are US Route 30, I-57, I-80, I-94 and I-294.

Both major Chicago airports, O’Hare International and Chicago Midway, are within an hour’s drive. Many local reliever airports, perfectly suited to the needs of area businesses are a short drive away as well. Metra commuter trains operate daily trips to Chicago from the station just six minutes from the village. Rail passengers with destinations throughout the country use Amtrak’s convenient station nearby.

With the possibility of a third regional airport within three miles of the Village’s border, we have taken a progressive approach to plan for such an option while containing to ensure positive, controlled growth for Crete. With a host of possibilities before us, the Village of Crete plans to take a hands-on approach to deciding the direction our community will take as we head into the 21st century.
