In addition to operating and maintaining six parks throughout the Village of Crete, the Park District plans and schedules many preschool, youth, teen, and adult recreation programs, trips, special events and sporting events throughout the year. It sponsors adult softball, day camp, Moonlight Madness, Country Christmas in Crete and the ever-popular Daddy/Daughter Date Night. The Park District also provides dozens of outdoor summer youth programs.

The Crete Park District maintains six beautiful park facilities: Crete Park and Heritage Park are equipped with playground equipment, tennis courts, picnic tables, grills and more for family fun. Visit Crete Park, Garrett Park, Gordon Playlot, Heritage Park, Lincolnshire East Park or Swiss Valley Park.

There is always something exciting to do in Crete. From February through December there are art fairs, antique shows, holiday/seasonal festivals, outdoor concerts, garden and house walks and much, much more. New to the area is Spooly's Health and Fitness Center for residents who want to get into better shape.

Horse racing fans can take a short canter over to famous Balmoral Park Race Track, or if you have some spare time check out Crete Bowling Lanes.

CRETE Civic Life

Crete is the home of numerous civic clubs and community organizations devoted to creating strong ties, providing leadership, and helping the needy. There are dozens of active groups in the area that have charters and members spanning many generations. Contact the Crete Chamber of Commerce for more information regarding schedules, activities and membership.

Golf Crete

Duffers and handicappers alike find a golfer’s paradise in Crete: five 18-hole courses within a five-minute drive of the Village, including Lincolnshire Country Club and Balmoral Woods Country Club. Adventure Trails Family Entertainment & Golf Center offers 30 acres of year-round fun including go-karts and batting cages.

Bulldog Football

This is the 34th football season for the Crete Bulldogs. Football is a team sport and the Crete Bulldogs Organization has grown and developed into a true team over the past three decades. As a volunteer organization, every member of the team helps continue the Bulldog tradition.
