Crystal Lake is the largest commercial and retail center in McHenry County. It has a thriving economy and progressive business climate driven by diverse firms that have expanded or relocated to the area. There are numerous business and industrial parks for manufacturing, warehousing and offices. The Downtown Crystal Lake Main Street Program has created further economic growth and paved the way for future stability of the downtown area. The historic downtown business district remains the heart and soul of Crystal Lake’s economic community.
The many shopping centers located in the Northwest Highway represent continued commercial growth in Crystal Lake. Projections indicate that the growth will continue.
