Crystal Lake Festivals
The end of June and first week of July features the sights, sounds and fun of the Lakeside Festival, Crystal Lake Gala Festival (both held at Lakeside Legacy Arts Park), and the famous America’s Cardboard Cup Regatta. Taste of Crystal Lake, carnival rides and music are a big part of these festivals, with entertainment for all ages. The Gala Festival concludes with a big parade and fireworks.
Since 1992 the Continental Amateur Baseball Association (CABA) World Series for 15-year old players has been held in Crystal Lake for nine days in late July and early August. Qualifying teams from throughout the United States and several foreign countries compete for the World Series title.
Historic downtown Crystal Lake is the site for several events, including annual sidewalk sales, the Johnny Appleseed Festival, the Farmers’ Market throughout the summer and the Festival of Lights Christmas Parade.
