Whether you like to browse among antiques or power shop in a superstore, in Danville you'll find quality, convenience and fun. Danville's downtown business district offers more than 135 businesses where you can find furniture, clothing, sporting equipment, musical instruments, gift items, gourmet foods, groceries and more. There are many unique shops mixed among the traditional retail stores, professional offices and government offices. Some of the area's antique and craft shops are scattered throughout Danville's charming neighborhoods. Downtown Danville, Inc. organizes many promotional activities, special events, and festivals in the downtown area throughout the year, as well as a Farmer's Market through the summer. Parking is available on the street, as well as in several nearby parking garages.
The Danville Crossings complex on North Vermilion features a Wal-Mart Supercenter, along with fast food restaurants and other development opportunities. The Supercenter includes groceries, photo developing, general merchandise, a snack shop, eye care and car maintenance. The Ames Plaza, just north of the Village Mall, hosts a variety of smaller stores, as does the Holiday Hills Shopping Plaza off Bowman Avenue. Towne Centre, located in downtown Danville, hosts a large supermarket, along with food chains and service-oriented businesses. It also provides housing for several large offices. Many towns and villages, a short driving distance from Danville, are also known for their intriguing antique shops and historical structures.
