There are many denominations of worship serving the Danville area. The churches of the Danville area play an integral role in the community by offering many programs and services ranging from education, child care, and social activities and recreation. The Illiana Christian Association (ICA) emphasizes the recognition, approach and bridging racial, cultural and religious barriers in the community. The ICA schedules worship services at nursing homes, and sponsors community worship, including Thanksgiving and Good Friday services. A directory listing of churches is available from the Illiana Christian Association.
Many other faiths also practice in the Danville area. There is a Jewish synagogue in Danville, while smaller groups of Islamic and Korean families also gather to worship. A handful of churches offer Spanish masses. Our diversity is truly expressed through the community activities and services, which includes a commitment to humanitarian service.
The Danville area supports numerous faith-oriented charities, including Habitat for Humanity and Faith In Action, a transportation and "good samaritan" program. That's in addition to numerous service-oriented opportunities with area non-profit organizations and civic clubs.
