With Deerfield as its anchor, the community is served by four elementary school districts and two high school districts, as well as a college and several parochial and private schools. In addition, this nationally acclaimed public school system has high academic standards, and offers a multitude of extracurricular activities for its students. Numerous recreational and community activities are also available. These include a vast array of sports activities, a fast growing Family Theater (which produces a musical community theater production annually) and Halloween Hoopla fall community event. The area’s 77-year-old Deerfield library boasts 186,163 items and several Internet stations, and offers a variety of proprietary online catalogs and business, health, magazine and telephone databases, providing a wealth of research and recreational material.
