With almost two miles of lakefront parks and beaches for walking, jogging, biking, swimming, dog walking and beach volleyball, people who enjoy outdoor activities can always find something to do in Edgewater. Pocket parks and playlots provide an alternative for children and for adults who just want to relax outdoors.

Broadway Armory Park, Illinois’ largest indoor recreational facility, offers a wide variety of activities ranging from crafts and exercise classes to mom-and-tot play groups and a climbing tower. There’s even a resident circus troupe that gives trapeze lessons. And Berger Park offers classes and camping in a lakefront setting.

During the summer, Edgewater hosts a number of neighborhood block parties and festivals, a time for residents and visitors to get together and enjoy all the community has to offer.
