The City of Edwardsville provides water. Midlawn Waste Systems Inc. manages trash pick-up and recycling.

Glen Carbon (village): Mayor, six Village Trustees, Village Clerk, Treasurer, Village Attorney, Village Engineer, Public Works Department, Police Department, Fire Department.

The Village provides water. Waste Management of Metro East handles trash pick up.

Illinois Power supplies gas and electric and Charter Communications provides Cable TV for both Edwardsville and Glen Carbon. Local newspapers are The Edwardsville Intelligencer and St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Madison County services include animal control, Building and Zoning, Circuit Clerk, County Board, County Clerk and Emergency Services and Disaster Agency (ESDA).

Voters may register with the county clerk in the County Administration Building.

Glen Carbon Fire Protection District operates a 1998 Emergency One Cyclone HP 75-foot Aerial. The unit features a 400 hp Cummins engine; Allison automatic transmission; 500 gallon tank and 1500 gpm Hale pump.
