

The culture of the village is fostered through such entities as the Elmwood Park Theatre and the Elmwood Park Community Chorus, plus outstanding community-wide events such as the Stars Under the Stars Concert Series at Central Park, the Elmwood Park Freedom Festival (a 4th of July celebration), the annual Fall Fest in September and the Holiday Stroll through the Park during the Thanksgiving holiday.
The village has been home to some notable present-day personalities including Ron Santo of the Chicago Cubs; Lee Loughnane of “Chicago”; Hall of Famer Ray Nitschke of the Green Bay Packers and Rich Dozer, the former President of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Current prominent residents calling Elmwood Park home include former Chicago Blackhawk Jerry Korab and two-time Olympic runner Michael K. Durkin.
