The Dellora A. Norris Cultural Center has been bringing theater to St. Charles and the surrounding areas for over 25 years. This 1,000-seat theater offers a wide range of dance, music, theater and children’s events with an amazing variety of acts. While independent of the school, the center is located on the St. Charles East High School campus. The art gallery at the center is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. Also in St. Charles is the Steel Beam Theater.

Musicals, plays, improvisational comedy, children’s theater and training classes can all be found in this cozy, 79-seat theater. The Noble Fool Theater at the Pheasant Run Resort prides itself on offering comedy at its best. After a huge renovation from dinner theater, the Noble Fool now has seats enough for 320.

To the south in Aurora, the Paramount Arts Center brings Broadway-caliber performances to the ‘burbs in a historic setting. Opened in 1931, the Paramount’s entertainment line up included “talking pictures,” vaudeville, concerts and circus performances. Now, this fully restored theater presents an assortment of musicals and dance performances, comedies, family programs and plays.

The Hemmens Cultural Center in Elgin is a 1,200-seat theater featuring celebrated performing artists. The Performing Arts for Young People program at the Hemmens strives to educate through entertainment and the arts. Visitors may even be able to catch a concert of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra.

The Kane County Events Center is host to many entertainment options. On the property, the Campbell House and Art Gallery is open to the public and is free of charge. Exhibits rotate about every five weeks, keeping the gallery fresh for new and returning visitors. The gallery and deck on the back end of the house also provide a beautiful setting for hosting events like family reunions, weddings, corporate events, or any other gathering, large or small.

The Events Center Park, near the gallery, covers about 18 acres of picturesque forest preserve. A trail nestled in the preserve is home to deer, birds and other small animals. Many hikers can catch a glimpse of these creatures in their natural habitat.

A day with the Kane County Cougars is sure to be a fun time for all. This Class A baseball team plays at Elfstrom Stadium with entertainment and activities throughout all games. Firework shows, human bowling, pedal car racing, freebies flung into the crowd, and autographs from the players add so much excitement to an already enjoyable day at the ball field. The KidZone Playground features all inflatable attractions, including an obstacle course, bounce/moon walk, giant climb-n-slide and speed pitch. This family-friendly venue has something for everyone.
