Surely one of the outstanding features attracting people to settle in this community is the Glenview Park District, which is recognized as one of the best park districts in the state of Illinois. The park district maintains a total of 735 acres of park land including 26 neighborhood and community parks, 11 school playgrounds, eight major recreational facilities and two outdoor swimming pools. Sports fields to accommodate baseball, football, soccer, lacrosse, softball, basketball, sand volleyball and tennis courts, sled hills and two skate parks meet the needs of nearly every sports enthusiast.

The true center of the community since opening in January 2001, Park Center is the Glenview Park District’s award-winning 165,000 square foot community center. It features Park Center Health & Fitness (a state-of-the-art fitness center), Splash Landings (a three-pool indoor aquatic complex), a multi-court gymnasium, one-eighth mile walking/running track, early childhood and cultural arts wings, a mini-gym, the Lakeview Room banquet facility, and the Glenview Senior Center. The Lakeview Room, gymnasiums and meeting rooms may be rented by the public. Park Center also offers a birthday party service as well as dozens of art, dance, sports, and general interest programs for all ages.
Park Center Health & Fitness
Park Center Health & Fitness is an affordable, convenient, state-of-the-art facility offering a fitness floor, cardio machines, strength and weight machines, free weights, a spinning studio, group fitness classes, open gyms, luxury locker rooms, availability of personal trainers, and use of the indoor track and the Splash Landings three-pool indoor aquatic complex. It is open to both residents and nonresidents on a daily fee or membership basis.
Splash Landings at Park Center
Splash Landings is the Glenview Park District’s three-pool indoor aquatic complex. It is open year-round and features a zero-depth to three-and-one-half feet deep play pool with an air traffic control tower-themed waterslide and interactive water play features, a six-lane, 25-yard lap pool, a warm water therapy pool, and a whirlpool. Splash Landings offers daily public swim and lap swim hours and a year-round schedule of swimming lessons for infants through adults. It is open to both residents and nonresidents on a daily fee or membership basis. It may also be rented for parties.
The Glenview Senior Center

The nationally accredited Glenview Senior Center, located in the east wing of Park Center, offers a wide variety of activities for adults age 55 and older. This handicapped accessible facility has its own convenient drive up entrance and features a spacious craft room, pocket billiard and card room, classrooms, meeting spaces, socialization areas and even kitchen facilities. The Senior Center is home to the Glenview Senior Club with over 1,000 members which is open to anyone 55 and older for a small annual membership fee.
Glenview Tennis Club

The Glenview Tennis Club includes eight indoor courts, a full-line pro shop, supervised playroom and playground, a whirlpool, sauna, and stretching area. A full selection of leagues is available as well as lessons for all ages on a year-round basis. Memberships provide reduced court rates and preference in reserving courts; lesson registration is available.
Glenview Ice Center

The Glenview Ice Center features a 200’ x 85’ main rink and a 90’ x 60’ studio or instructional rink, both with seating for spectators, a concession stand, vending machines, game room, and large multi-purpose room and party room which are available for rental. The Ice Center offers a quality program of hockey and figure skating lessons, hockey and broomball leagues, competitions and just-for-fun recreational skating. An annual Ice Show is presented each May.
Glenview Park Golf Club

The Glenview Park Golf Club is a 6,133 yard, 18-hole par 70 course open to both residents and non-residents. It features a full-service golf shop with an excellent selection of merchandise, a restaurant for daily food service, The Café, with a breathtaking golf course view that is also a popular lunch spot year-round as well as being available as a banquet facility. The Club is a favorite site for club and business golf outings.
Glenview National 9 Golf Club

The Glenview National 9 Golf Club is a 2,000-yard, par 31, 9-hole course designed with the family in mind. Each hole features four sets of tees to accommodate varying levels of skill among players. Comfortable for younger golfers, it is also a popular site for golf outings. It is open to both residents and nonresidents.
The Grove National Historic Landmark

The Grove National Historic Landmark is a 123-acre nature preserve of woods, ponds, savannahs and trails which was the home of visionary horticulturist and educator Dr. John Kennicott and his son Robert during the 19th century. It is the site of the 1856 Kennicott House; the Interpretive Center (a nature and historic museum), a Native American Village and Log Cabin, a replica of the original Grove School House, the historic Redfield Estate and the Kennicott Archives which houses many rare and original documents from this historic family. The Grove offers nature and history programs for adults and children year-round, summer camps for children and numerous special events throughout the year.

Wagner Farm is an 18.6 acre farm owned and operated by the Glenview Park District. It preserves the traditions and way of life of the early 20th century American dairy farm. Its farmhouse and grounds have been restored to portray one of the many working farms prevalent in this area more than 85 years ago. Visitors get to see and participate in the daily activities of a real working farm, with hands-on interactive learning stations, a milking parlor, greenhouse, an authentic 1920’s store, and a museum store. The farm offers public visitation hours, educational programs for all ages, and special events throughout the year as well as seasonal sales of farm products.
Schram Navy Chapel (Captain Richard A. Schram Memorial Museum)

The Captain Richard A. Schram Memorial Museum is a former Navy Chapel originally erected at the Glenview Naval Air Station in 1945 then moved to its present location and completely restored in 2001. Beautifully refurbished, it is now available for rental by groups, individuals and organizations for meetings, weddings and other special gatherings.

Roosevelt Outdoor Pool

Roosevelt Pool is a two-pool complex featuring a zero-depth play pool with interactive spray play toys and a 25-yard, 5-lane activity pool. There are also two deep water drop slides, a three meter diving platform and an interactive island with water cannons and spray features for cooling summer fun.
Flick Park Outdoor Pool

Flick Pool is a five-pool complex with a large zero-depth play pool with interactive spray play equipment, a lap pool, a diving well with two drop slides, diving boards, a kiddie pool, and a flume slide splash down pool with a first-of-its-kind interactive water cannon game.
