There’s much to explore in the Harvard area, throughout McHenry County, and nearby Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Stroll through one of Harvard’s own Beck’s Woods and Rush Creek Conservation Areas. Bring the kids and play ball at any one of our seven parks scattered throughout the city.
There are also plenty of golf courses available; Plum Tree Golf Course or Oak Grove Golf Course in Harvard and Beaver Creek Golf Course in Capron. Plus, 25 miles north of Harvard are many recreational opportunities that are available in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
The City of Harvard also has an aquatic center, which first opened in June of 2001. This 7,000-square-foot, 285,000-gallon pool can easily accept 422 people with zero depth entrances perfect for handicapped accessibility. The aquatic center also features two diving boards, a picnic area, a water slide, a sand play area and a sand volleyball pit.
Also constructed for the center is a 5,680-square-foot bath house and concession stand area to give visitors to the pool area a place to stop by and grab a quick snack or something to drink on those hot, summer days.
The pool is open for the summer season from June through August, and rates for residents and non-residents to the aquatic center can be obtained by, contacting the Harvard City Hall. For more information, call the pool at 815-943-4300 or City Hall at 815-943-6468.
