Municipal Services

Hillside is governed by a president and six trustees (elected to staggered four-year terms) with an elected village clerk. An appointed administrator oversees village functions – including full-time professional fire/paramedic and police departments, public works, emergency services and disaster units, and senior citizen programs.

Residents are encouraged to attend Village Board meetings, held at the Municipal Complex (425 Hillside Avenue). Regular Board meetings, where final action is taken, are held at 7:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of every month. They begin with a Town Hall session, an opportunity for the general public to speak on any matter pertaining to the village. Working sessions, called Board of the Whole meetings, are held at 7:30 p.m. on the second Monday of the month.
