Summer presents many special events in Hinsdale. Each Father's Day weekend, a two-day Fine Arts festival is held in Burlington Park. Over 140 artists participate in this juried event which presents awards to "Best of Show," "The Presidents Award" and seven different categories for first, second and third place. Uniquely Thursdays begins in mid- June featuring Live Music in the streets of downtown Hinsdale every Thursday night for ten consecutive weeks. All types of music are represented along with food vendors, beverage vendors and activities galore.
In July, the village hosts their annual Fourth of July parade in conjunction with a one-day arts and crafts fair. From the end of June until October, one of the best Farmer's Markets in DuPage County entices fresh food buyers from all around the western suburbs.
In mid July, a two-day Sidewalk Sale is held by the town's merchants and at the end of the summer season, a Merchant's Garage Sale takes place the second Saturday in September.
The Community House sponsors an Antique Show and Sale each September, and the Hinsdale Center for the Arts, located in Katherine Legge Park, provides on-going classes, exhibits and clubs throughout the year for all ages.
There is a Halloween Walk for kids in October and spectacular Christmas Walk, the day after Thanksgiving. Stores stay open late, merchants provide giveaways and streets are alive with ice carvers, live music, characters, food tents and so much more.
